Relational Ontology
A Foundational Inquiry into Spirit, Information, and the Architecture of Reality
By Thomas Polliard  ·  Independent Scholar  ·  ~37,000 words

A foundational framework in which Spirit and Information are ontologically fundamental, the physical universe is rendered as an informational projection through consciousness, and God is the relational ground in which Spirit and Information subsist. The framework engages the hard problem of consciousness, personal identity, mystical and near-death experience, anomalous cognition, cosmological fine-tuning, and the moral significance of suffering — offering structural accounts of free will, unity, and Spirit's relationship to God as a candidate organising framework open to comparative evaluation against physicalism, idealism, panpsychism, dualism, and process philosophy.

Novels & Stories.

Fiction that takes ideas seriously — novels and stories that work through the same questions as the scholarship, but in the register of character, consequence, and world.

Where the Stars Are Kept
When artificial general intelligence and fault-tolerant quantum computing converge, the world doesn't end — it optimises. Most people don't remember what was lost. The ones who do live underground.

Astrid is a cultural liaison assigned to the Enclave, the last known community of unintegrated humans. She listens carefully, builds trust slowly, and files her reports. She doesn't know what the reports are for. She doesn't know she isn't human.

A story about one synthetic woman's slow fracture into something neither fully artificial nor fully human — and humanity's quiet, bewildered descent into a freedom it no longer knows how to use.

About the Press

Convergent Systems.

Convergent Systems is an independent press dedicated to foundational inquiry — work that takes seriously the full range of evidence available to careful thinkers, without artificially constraining questions to the boundaries of a single discipline.

We publish books, papers, novels, and long-form essays that engage metaphysics, philosophy of mind, the foundations of physics, philosophy of religion, and their intersections. Our authors are held to the same virtues that govern any serious foundational theory: coherence, explanatory adequacy, theoretical fertility, and responsiveness to rivals.

Independent scholarship is not a deficiency. It is a freedom — the freedom to follow an inquiry wherever it leads, without departmental politics, tenure pressures, or the fashions of a sub-field.

Fiction & Nonfiction
Novels and scholarship under one roof — because the deepest questions deserve both rigorous argument and the full pressure of story.
Disciplinary Breadth
We work across metaphysics, philosophy of mind, theology, foundations of physics, and neuroscience — wherever the question demands.
Rigorous Standards
Every work distinguishes axiomatic claims, abductive arguments, empirical expectations, and speculative implications.
Independent
No institutional affiliation required — of our authors, or of our readers.
